The Old Vicarage, Jedbrough.
Severe winds blew the tin sheeting from the roof of this listed home in Scotland. Team Force, because of their in-depth knowledge of this type of work were employed to replace the roof covering with lead sheet.
The scaffolding was erected and the work began, because of the expense of the scaffolding the private owner of the property decided to have the full roof stripped off and recovered including the slates etc.
Traditional hand split slates were brought in from a salvage yard and the sloping roofs were replaced including a conservation roof light.
The lead sheet was Code 6 type with wood core roll to combat thermal movement within the lead sheet, and at the correct spacing the lead used would last a life time.
The close up photo shows the end of this expansion roll and the lead sheet covering it.
